A Quick Note on Pricing
The $50/hr rate covers labor only. Materials, parts, and hauling away any job-site debris or old fixtures are billed separately and always confirmed with you before the work begins — so there's never a surprise on the back end.
Forty Years Of Getting It Right
Jonathan spent his career as an engineer and project manager — the kind of work where you measure twice, respect the materials, and never leave a job half-finished.
There's no call center, no subcontractor, no upsell. You call Jonathan, Jonathan shows up, and Jonathan does the work — carefully, at a fair flat rate, on jobs both large and small.
Family first — the same care that goes into every job.
Areas We Serve
Based in Montgomery Creek, with regular jobs in Burney and throughout the surrounding Shasta County communities.
Most work is in and around Burney, Fall River Mills, McArthur, Cassel, and Hat Creek, plus Montgomery Creek, Round Mountain, Big Bend, Johnson Park, and Old Station. Redding-area jobs are considered by project. Common requests across the Intermountain area include interior and exterior painting, sink, toilet, and flooring work, deck, fence, and shed repair, wheelchair ramps and grab bars, RV and mobile home repair, and custom garden beds and planters. There's no trip fee anywhere in the service area.
“John is an excellent handyman. He did several jobs at our house from installing a faucet to repairing a floor. He also had a new light fixture in an extremely tall staircase. We are very happy with this work and we will use them again.”
“He did a great job. He replaced a beam on my building that was rotting out, painted my building trim, fixed a broken drawer and grouted a replacement tile. Jonathan communicated clearly and honestly throughout the whole process. He even welcomed my feedback when asked to paint a spot again and put the project together precisely as I specified. Would call him again and even recommended him to my parents.”

Questions, Answered
What do you charge?
A flat $50/hr labor rate for smaller jobs, or a flat quote for bigger jobs — no surprises. The $50/hr covers labor only. Materials, parts, and hauling away any job-site debris or old fixtures are billed separately and always confirmed with you before the work begins, so there's never a surprise on the back end.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes — call or text with a description (a photo helps) and I'll give you a straight quote before scheduling anything.
How soon can you get to my job?
Availability is generally open, and small jobs often get scheduled within the week. Text me your timeline and I'll work around it.
Is there a minimum charge or trip fee?
No. There's no minimum and no trip charge anywhere in our service area — you only pay for the time the job takes.
How can I pay?
Cash, PayPal, or card through Square. Square takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
Do you travel outside Burney?
Yes — we're based in Montgomery Creek and work regularly in Burney, Fall River Mills, McArthur, Cassel, Hat Creek, Old Station, Johnson Park, Big Bend, and Round Mountain. Redding-area jobs are considered depending on the project, so just ask.
Can you take on bigger jobs?
Yes — for larger projects Jonathan can bring in extra hands to help things move faster, and bigger jobs get a clear, upfront quote instead of the standard hourly rate.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. If something I fixed or installed fails because of my workmanship within 90 days, I'll come back and make it right at no charge for labor. Materials and fixtures are covered by their manufacturer's warranty.
Can I buy my own materials?
Absolutely. Just send me a photo or the product info first so I can confirm it's the right size and type for the job. My guarantee still covers the labor, but defects in customer-supplied materials fall under the manufacturer's warranty.
How long does a custom woodwork piece take?
Smaller pieces like planters usually take a couple of days, and bigger projects like garden beds or patio furniture can take up to a week. You'll get a timeline along with your quote.
